Kopke chose to pay tribute to its outstanding terroir – Quinta de São Luiz – by signing its Douro DOC wines as São Luiz. These wines proudly display the estate's white walls on the label.

For many years at Quinta de São Luiz, tradition dictated that the walls be painted white at Easter. These white walls are true fragments of history, supporting both the vineyards and the wisdom of many generations. From this historical heritage was born Kopke's Douro DOC wine collection.

Renowned for its remarkable winegrowing heritage, its magnificent slopes and its traditional white walls, the brand's motto captures this vision of the Douro – a “Douro Underlined by History”.
